Tabú Launches Forbes Friday

Tabú the boutique nightclub inside MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, is launching a new series, Forbes Friday, on Friday, May 25. The new weekly event features DJ Eric Forbes spinning until the wee morning hours.

Gordon Ramsey’s New Restaurant Opens

On May 11, Chef Gordon Ramsay became the latest celeb chef to open a restaurant in Las Vegas.  Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas is a two-story restaurant. The experience begins when guests walk through the “chunnel” entrance and then into the restaurant, complete with a Union Jack ceiling mural. The new restaurant features prime beef dry-aged for a minimum of 28 days, as well as Smoked Beef Tartare, Colorado Lamb Chop and Sticky Toffee Pudding. For those who won’t be out to see the new digs in the near future, FOX’s “Hell’s Kitchen” makes a stop at the Las Vegas spot on the June 4th and 5th episodes.

New Downtown Bowling Alley Opens

Looking for something different to do in Las Vegas? Head downtown to the newly opened Drink & Drag. A new, transvestite bowling alley and bar opened on May 6. Every Sunday the new spot hosts “Super Gay Sundays” with drink and snack specials from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m.

 

MGM Grand’s Nob Hill Tavern Celebrates National Burger month

Burger loves, take note! Throughout May, Nobhill Tavern at MGM Grand is celebrating National Burger month with weekly burger specials. Executive Chef Michael Mina has created a rotating menu of delicious burger goodness. 

May 8 – 12: The Capital Limited — a mixture of mustard and mayo, grilled Romaine lettuce, pickled red onions;

May 15 – 19: The Lake Shore Limited — strips of bacon, fried egg and beer cheese sauce;

May 22 – 27: The California Zephyr — salmon tartare, fresh California avocado puree and fried shallots;

May 28 – 31: The Sunset Limited — Kobe beef patty topped with beef short rib chili, New Mexican green chile and Cotija cheese.

Burgers are $20 and include fries.

Rio to Host Popular San Gennaro Festival

From May 9 – May 13, Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino hosts the 33rd annual San Gennaro Feast, featuring more than 70 restaurant booths, 60 amusement rides and game, arts and crafts and entertainment. Hosted by Tony Sacca, this popular event is a celebration of Italian culture and offers guests a fun alternative to the normal Strip attractions.

At least if you are headed to Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrahs. And are a female. Starting on May 3, every Thursday is Ladies Night where the women get $10 Red Solo Cups with unlimited refills of Coors Light and Miller Lite draft from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

 

New Topless Pool Slated to Come to Las Vegas

The tops optional pool trend continues to spread in the Las Vegas pool circuit. This time, popular Sapphire gentlemen’s club is the culprit, announcing recently they are throwing their hats into the topless pool pool. It is slated to open later in 2012.
