From the clowns who tease to the girls with little-to-nothing on, to the steamy, sensual scenes, Zumanity at New York- New York is one hot show. It offers the typical Cirque staples, such as acrobatics, contortion and aerial stunts, along with sexual innuendos, hot bodies and more. Not appropriate for people under 18, the show features sexual situations, including some light homosexual situations.

The Lion King – Mandalay Bay Las Vegas

Just like the other shows of the same name, “The Lion King” delivers a magical and whimsical performance at Mandalay Bay. It tells the story of Simba, a young cub, who’s father, Mufasa is killed early on. After exiling himself, Simba meets an entertaining cast of characters who teach him to relax and enjoy. It is only when his love from the village finds him and tells him about the perils of his previous home, does he return to set things right. The music, composed by Elton John among others, coupled with the sets and costumes, creates a fantastical journey through the lion’s young life. Show ends December 30th, 2011.

Jubilee – Bally’s Las Vegas

If you crave a taste of the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas Past, then Jubille! is the show to see. Located at Bally’s, this show features gorgeous showgirls clad in traditional Las Vegas Showgirl attire (think 20-pound headdress, sequins, feathers) performing routines. The 80-plus girls take it almost all off (there is one family-friendly show Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.), amidst various scenes like the sinking of the Titanic and more. There’s even contortionists and acrobatics to entertain. The show celebrated its 30th anniversary on July 30 … and once you see the show, you will understand why it has lasted so long in town.

Vinny Favorito – Flamingo Las Vegas

This tough-talking, fast-thinking comedian knows how to make a crowd laugh. Normally at their expense. Favorito’s brand of comedy draws from his audience, so if you can’t take a joke aimed at you, this isn’t the show to watch. However, for most of the crowd, his goading and humor leaves them in stitches. There’s a reason his show has lasted as long as it has – for all his comedic bullying, at the end of the day, he is really darn funny.

Donny & Marie – Flamingo Las Vegas

Brother and sister duo, Donny and Marie Osmond, come from a performing family. The two who both have had successful entertainment careers, unite on stage for show that will entertain all ages. You don’t need to have ever heard one of their songs in order to enjoy this show at the Flamingo. The musical numbers, playful costumes, and sibling banter create a show that leaves the audience smiling, no matter what.

Peepshow – Planet Hollywood Las Vegas

It may help a little that reality star Holly Madison (“The Girls Next Door,” “Holly’s World”) and her co-star, Josh Strickland (“Holly’s World”) are the main attractions in this strip-show-meets-musical, but not too much. Peepshow, housed in Planet Hollywood, is a fun romp through grown-up fairytale land, set to Strickland’s buttery crooning and a beautiful cast who is quite alright with getting nearly naked. It’s got music, it’s got comedy, it’s got dancing. And, it’s got stripper poles. Very Vegas.

“O” – Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio Las Vegas

Cirque’s water themed show is as spectacular as one can imagine. The theater, modeled after a 14th century European opera house inside Bellagio, creates an intimate environment where the audience can be amazed at what goes on in the 1.5 million gallon tank. The show is packed with acrobatics, synchronized swimmers and divers. This show has been around for awhile – it celebrated its 6,000th performance in May 2011.

Le Rêve – Wynn Las Vegas

One of two water-based shows in Las Vegas (Cirque’s “O” is the other), Le Rêve is directed by Cirque veteran Dragone, and the audience can tell. This beautiful show takes the crowd on a whimsical journey through dreams, complete with floating beds, drops that make onlookers gasp, synchronized aquatics and more. Splashing has never looked so good. Especially when the “stage” is a 1 million gallon tank of water, and the theatre-in-the-round set-up means there are no bad seats.

Mystere – Treasure Island

There are seven Cirque shows currently in Las Vegas. Mystere was the first in town, and coincidentally, the longest running of the seven. It broke the mold from Cirque du Soliel’s tents and actually took up residence in a theater, Treasure Island to be exact. This show fits Cirque’s tried-and-true mold of high-energy mixed with amazing acrobatic feats. For good measure, it throws in some pretty cool props like Chinese Poles and a trampoline.
